Amidst everybody’s busy schedule, this is definitely something to look out for. This November 14, we will be witnessing a Supermoon! Mark your calendars and experience this sweet escape.

When the Earth is in between the Sun and the Moon, that is the time it appears full. NASA shares that the moon is naturally elliptical in shape, which means that it is not a perfect circle. This is the reason why there are times, the moon is closer to the earth and other times not.

Normally, a full moon occurs every each month. However, the term "supermoon" is used to describe a full moon at the point in the moon's orbit when it is closest to Earth. This makes it appear around 14% bigger and 30% brighter than normal.

This event happens three times in 2016. Recent supermoon was on October 16, other upcoming supermoons will be on November 14 and December 14. The event on November 14 is actually an extra-supermoon!

According to Space, this is something to look forward to witnessing since this is said to be the brightest supermoon since 1948. And guess what? NASA reported that the next supermoon that would look this bright won’t occur until November 25, 2034! That’s 18 years from now!

The supermoon is going to be easy to spot. Ideally look for a location with low light to enjoy the view more. If you want more details of the moon, you may try using some telescope or binoculars.

Fox News clarifies that a supermoon is different from what is called “Low-hanging moons.” This is when the moon is close to the horizon it creates a “moon illusion” making it look larger than usual when viewed through foreground objects. This is an optical illusion, which makes it totally different to the actual supermoon. Still, it is the experience that matters, the beauty is somewhat comparable.

But, a supermoon is definitely a beautiful scene to look out for. Take note and mark your calendars on November 14 and December 14.
