“Cardcaptor Sakura” has an announced return to the pages of “Nakayoshi” magazine. What other surprises are there to await?

Crunchy Roll announced that there will be new “Cardcaptor” manga coming to the Nakayoshi magazine it was also reported that a new anime will follow the series. There is still no official information on whether the anime will air on television, or it will be a direct to video release. Other uncertainty is that there is no release date for the upcoming series. Fans speculate that it will be the "Clear Card Arc" which will be animated into the new series. It will cover the life of Sakura as a middle-schooler, after the events in the original anime.

Also, “Cardcaptor” will have some big announcements coming in December. CLAMP's “Cardcaptor Sakura” will have some huge news on an upcoming surprise. It is hinted that the new information revel will be directly connected to the anime series.

According to Anime Network, a previous announcement by the magazine about huge surprises following the December issue proved to be news surrounding the “Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie” which will hit theaters on January 21, 2017. The celebration of 20 years “Cardcaptor Sakura” was started with the release of “Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Hen” (Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card Arc) sequel manga which was just the beginning of series of surprises to look forward to.

Comicbook shares information about the series and its developments since its inception. The anime first aired in the year of 1998, and went on for two years and had two full-length films released during this time. The manga series launched in the year of 1996, ran for four years and is considered the most successful shoujo franchise to current date. The mange ran successfully for four years, selling over 12 million copies since its start.
