The "Outlander", adaptation from the book series of Diana Gabaldon with same title, and the upcoming Season 3 is based on her third book the "Voyager." "Outlander" fans know all too well that the TV series sometimes do not completely adhere to the book. The upcoming Season 3 might just be the case as well.

The "Outlander" season 3, according to the book, viewers can expect Jamie and Claire to reunite after being separated for almost two decades. The book says that they will be reunited in the print shop, but the series will show otherwise. While fans are bummed out by this, the author Gabaldon gave the green light.

Fans can also expect a rather big change in the life of Claire. In the book "Voyager", there were not much details about her marriage with her husband Frank, but the trailer showing Claire's waking up on bed from the Battle of Culloden reveals that the "Outlander" Season 3 will be delving into the lives of Frank and Claire together.

In a report by IB Times, Diana Gabaldon tells TV Guide that they have opened the story to new story line and so far they have done it consistently well. However, in terms of Jamie, the show is sticking to the books, which will be featured in the first parts of the upcoming "Outlander" Season 3.

Furthermore, Caitriona Balfe, the actress who plays Claire, said that viewers should expect a lot more sex in the third season of "Outlander." She elaborates that given the long separation of Claire and Jamie, once they reunite, fans will see more sex scenes, and they will be special. While she asks fans to "wait a little bit," she reassures that there will be more sex in the "Outlander" Season 3 than the second installment of the series.

The "Outlander" Season 3 is returning to Starz TV in April 2017.
