Alicia Keys, the "Empire State of Mind" hitmaker and her music producer husband Swizz Beatz have been blessed with a baby boy this holiday season.

The couple announced the birth of their son via social media website Instagram. They posted a picture of the baby's footprints on a picture of a huge star that looked like a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The picture also had the baby's name "Genesis Ali Dean" scrawled on it with "Happy Birthday" in big bold letters above it. The picture was captioned:

"The joy of joy is joy!! It's a boy!! we are so grateful!! #blessings!!"

According to People Magazine, the baby was born Saturday, Dec 27 and weighed 6 lbs. and 5 oz.

This is the second child for the couple. The two already have a four-year-old boy Egypt Daoud, who is reportedly super excited to be a big brother.

"I think he's super excited because he's not going to be the youngest anymore. He's always kissing my belly," Keys told PEOPLE in October.

Keys announced her pregnancy in July this year, also via Instagram. She posted a photo of herself and Swizz Beatz posing for a picture captioning it:

"Happy Anniversary to the love of my life @therealswizzz!!"

"And to make it even sweeter we've been blessed with another angel on the way!! You make me happier than I have ever known! Here's to many many more years of the best parts of life!" she added.

Keys revealed her due date on "The View" in September adding:

"Being a mother has definitely given me more of a fierceness and an understanding of just what I believe in, that much more."
