Netflix's 'The Punisher' Set To Release In 2017; Get To Know The 5 Stars To Portray Major Characters

Netflix is set to release another Marvel Original by next year. The series is named after the popular comics "The Punisher".

"The Punisher" is a spin-off of Marvel's Daredevil. According to Slash Film, Netflix just released the list of new five stars who will portray some of the biggest characters in the series and this has caused a lot of excitement to Marvel followers.

Before the list was released, Netflix already announced that actor Jon Bernthal will play the role as "The Punisher". Along with him are Deborah Ann Woll, Amber Rose Revah, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Ben Barnes.

The new five stars who will join Netflix's "The Punisher" are the following: Daniel Webber, Michael Nathanson, Jason Moore, Jaime Ray Newman and Paul Schulze. The full description of the characters which the newly added five actors will portray are all posted on Marvel's website.

Webber will portray "The Punisher's" Lewis Walcott, a young veteran who just got dipped into the Civilian Society and is having a hard time getting used to the changes in his life; Nathanson, on the other hand, will play as Sam Stein, a Homeland agent who experiences constant troubles with his partner Dinah (Revah). Meanwhile, Moore who is tasked to portray Curtis Hoyle who is one of the few people who are aware that Frank Castle is still alive.

Newman takes on the role as Sarah Lieberman, the wife of Micro (Moss-Bachrach) who carries a very complicated life after she got married. Schulze will then portray the life of Rawlins, a CIA official who has some mission in Afghanistan that will get linked with Frank Castle's case. "The Punisher" is expect to be released by next year (2017). This makes it the third Marvel series to set in Netflix on the same year.
