Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) may be untouchable when it comes to the fans, but the hit TV show "The Walking Dead" proved on Sunday. November 6th that no man is safe when it comes to the 'Saviours'.

The episode entitled, "The Cell" was written by Angela Kang and directed by Alrick Riley. The episode's focus is fan favorite Daryl Dixon, and his arch-nemesis Dwight (Austin Amelio). Fans will recall that Daryl was taken captive by Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) nearing the end of the show's Season 7 premiere.

Once again, the show proved to fans just how powerful Negan could be. After bashing both Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn (Steven Yeun's) head with his "vampire bat", Negan told his men to bring Daryl back to their truck. He then threatened to kill Daryl should Rick (Andrew Lincoln), and his group tried any rebellion against Negan.

In this week's episode, fans found out that Negan is not only interested in using Daryl as leverage, but on making him one of his "top guys". The episode also showed that the "Big Bad" is not only addicted to bashing other people's skull in, he's also very much into breaking people - emotionally, physically, and mentally - such was the purpose of the episode.

The writers of the episode wanted fans to focus on three things: how Negan and Dwight methodically tries to break Daryl, how things are in the "Sanctuary", and how Dwight resents everything from that places - including Negan.

The episode opens with a montage of scenes showing Dwight collecting Negan's bounty from different survivors. Each of the things he collected turned out to be ingredients for a mean-looking sandwich complete with tomatoes, lettuce, and eggs. On the other hand, Daryl gets a scoop of Alpo between two slices of bread.

Daryl is locked up inside a cell, without clothes on, shivering and starving. Dwight was tasked to break Daryl, so Negan can later recruit him to be one of his men. Dwight does this by periodically blasting Daryl's cell with excessively upbeat pop music, showing him a photo of Glenn's remains, and telling him that it was his fault Glenn died.

However, Dwight proved to be "not that bad" as his treatment towards Daryl starts softening. After all, this is a man who saved his and his wife's life. He's given Daryl clothes, and even took him to Doctor Carson.

In the doctor's office, Daryl crosses path with Sherry, who is now Negan's wife instead of Dwight's. This was their payment for attempting to escape the Saviors in the Season 6 episode entitled "Always Accountable". The Saviors allowed Dwight and Sherry to stay alive, but she had to be married to Negan, and Dwight "got the iron".

In a scene, later on, fans can see just how much Negan loves telling this tale in front of Dwight - seemingly provoking him just to see his reaction. Fans can also see the resentment in Dwight's face and reactions, however, he does nothing to stop Negan.

Later, fans will see both Dwight and Sherry smoking and talk about how their sacrifices are "A hell of a lot better than being dead." While Dwight was on the road looking for a Savior runaway, Daryl was left in an unlocked cell, where he tries to escape.

The captive did not seem to question why his cell door was left unlocked. While on the run, Daryl met Sherry, where she warned him to go back while he can. Daryl - not believing a word Sherry says - makes a run to an open courtyard where he was surrounded by Saviours.

Negan then showed up and told Daryl he was put to the test and failed. In this scene, Negan tried to scare Daryl with Lucille. However, Daryl "doesn't scare easy", and so he was offered three choices: Be killed and serve Negan as one of the Sanctuary's zombie watchdogs, work for "points" as one of the Saviors' wage slaves, or work as Negan's "top guys" and "live like a king".

The show ends with Negan asking Daryl what his decision is, and Daryl still resisting to be one of the many "Negans". Dwight then angrily threw a resisting Daryl back in the cell, where he will belong until he breaks.

Overall, the episode shed light to how Negan runs his compound - through threats and psychologically intimidating his people. His people gave up their identities; they are all Negan, and Negan is everywhere. They are trained to kneel in his presence.

It also shed light on Dwight, and the other sides of his story that makes his character more complex. Lastly, it showed Daryl's resistance to giving in where Dwight gave in.

What will become of one Daryl Dixon should he continue to resist Negan?
