"Doctor Strange" movie launched a very strong start at $9.4 Million. The story of "Doctor Strange" itself is appealing and with Benedict Cumberbatch and the other actors in the movie, the box office result wasn't strange at all.

"Doctor Strange" Movie has no doubt to potentially hit $88M according to a report, which also stated how "Doctor Strange is now shelling out an estimated $82M. Although this amount is still behind the November live-action Thor: The Dark World with $85.7M FSS, the projections were swelling out and just before the end of the night, Doctor Strange had an estimate in which it can hit $88M.

"Doctor Strange" and its strong start-up was well expected  as observed during the month of August of this year. Reports showed how the online trailers of "Doctor Strange" were being viewed and shared. It was the most viewed trailer and is having a high rate. Also, Benedict Cumberbatch highlighted the film when he was hired by Jimmy Kimmel to a birthday party full of screaming kids.

Now with the clear success of "Doctor Strange", controversy about 'whitewashing' had risen again. The controversy according to reports is about Tilda Swinton who was cast as The Ancient One in "Doctor Strange". Tilda Swinton was cast for the role of a man in which the director, Scott Derrickson and Jon Spaihts, defended her as they said that it was a diversity choice.

Many believed that for the role of The Ancient One, it could have been an Asian woman rather than a British actress as stated also in the article. The controversy was still going on but this kind of controversy already happened before, like in "The Dark Night Rises" in which Marion Cotillard plays the role of Talia al Ghul and Guy Pearce as The Mandarin in "Iron Man".

Despite the 'whitewashing controversy', fans say that "Doctor Strange" nailed it. From the opening up until now, the revenue of the said film is hiking up.
