'Predator', the sci-fi thriller that catapulted Arnold Schwarzenegger to global stardom, is up for a fourth installment, with 'Iron Man 3' director Shane Black tapped to do the sequel. 'The Predator' was revealed by producer John Davis in August 2015 and will be co-written by Black who plans to reinvent the franchise.

"The Hollywood Reporter (THR)" offered exclusive details of 'The Predator's' setting and announced the casting of Olivia Munn and her character. Munn appeared in the blockbuster 'X-Men Apocalypse' as the villain Psylocke.

According to THR, ''Narcos" actor Boyd Holbrook will be part of a special forces team while Olivia will act as the scientist studying the Predator. The suburban setting is noted as interesting, as the Yautja alien hunts only those who present themselves as warriors.

As of this writing, 'The Predator' cast will include rapper 50 Cent and Quinn McKenna. WWF wrestlers The Rock and John Cena were rumored to be involved in the remake of Predator. The Rock denied that he would be part of the sequel.

Shane reiterated on Oct. 26, 2016 in a JoBlo interview that 'The Predator' is not a reboot. He shared that the production has a solid script. He explained why 'The Predator' would act as more of a sequel than a reboot. He added that the script considered the events of the original 1987 'Predator."

Movieweb reported that original Predator star Arnold Schwarzenegger is rumored to be in talks with Shane Black to star in 'The Predator.' Cinema Blend also teased about the possible involvement of the former California governor in the movie, but nothing is final yet, according to the director.

Principal photography for 'The Predator' is expected to begin in February 2017, under the production title 'Ollie." Studio ADI, the visual effects studio, has been contracted to handle the movie's special effects.
