'Sherlock' Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Moriarty To Return? What We Know So Far!

"Sherlock" Season 4 is already confirmed to come back in the small screens next year. It seems that a villain will be coming back to challenge Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming season. In the clips that have recently been revealed, Moriarty (Andrew Scott) is back.

According to a report in Ecumenical News, a trailer that was released for "Sherlock" Season 4 shows of Moriarty in the first few seconds. This means that he is back in the series although he was believed to be dead previously.

Aside from Moriarty seen in the trailer, "Sherlock" also hints of his big comeback to "Sherlock" Season 4. It still is not officially confirmed that Moriarty is indeed coming back but fans are looking forward for the villain to be back.

In a report from The Gamer's Drop, there are three major characters to join "Sherlock" Season 4. Smith, Thatcher and Sherrinford are the characters most likely to be part of the upcoming season. It already is confirmed that Culverton Smith (Toby Jones) is joining the show as the new villain to challenge Sherlock.

Additionally, "Sherlock" Season 4 is believed to be the darkest of seasons. There are also more drama to the show as ghosts from yesterday are coming back for "Sherlock" and John Watson (Martin Freeman). As for the character of Sherrinford, it is hinted that Tom Hiddleston is to portray it and will be introduced in the third episode.

Meanwhile, it is reported in iSports Times, Moriarty and Augustus Magnussen (Lars Mikkelsen)are the purest evil yet they both have a certain charm within them. Culverton smith on the other hand, is said to be evil in its purest form. He has a rotten soul and will challenge Sherlock more in "Sherlock" Season 4.

Fans have been waiting for some time now for "Sherlock" Season 4 to return. It can be expected on January 1, 2017.
