"Victoria" is the new show that is being touted as the new Games of Thrones. People that had followed this period drama already could compare with the HBO series about many of the critics received lately and since aired.

The new series share the story of young queen Victoria. The story starts with her eighteenth birthday when her uncle dies and the danger of the monarchy crumbling becomes a reality.

"Game of Thrones" is a worldwide famous series but about this issue hasn't changed still the show reviews. GOT portrays women characters differently quoting the female tv critics  "the assault of females and violence " apparently seems to be usual, like Jaime Lannister and Sansa's story. Some critics say that women are portrayed at a disadvantage to which others say that it is the opposite. Women rules in GOT they say.

For those who feel the women aren't given "strong" roles, the alternative seems to be "Victoria" - the answer to what the other half of the population is asking for.

Episode one start with the actress' line "I can manage... alone," when stepping the stairs to her initiation ceremony and other lines like; "I know I'm young, and my sex puts me at a disadvantage" "But I can assure that I'm ready" shares a New Zealand show review.

This comparison between "Victoria" and "GOT" could be a sign of protest for the disadvantageous portrayal of women in the usual females roles.

Of course nothing can even replace "Games of Thrones" but "Victoria" will be an interesting show to watch while waiting for GOT. Fans and critics agree that this series could be a good addition to the people's list.

The new series "Victoria" doesn't offer the effects and settings like people are used to see in GOT, but probably the audience could be able to identify themselves with female roles somehow.
