Twitter have a new design pertaining the replies of users to tweets. This @reply design is being tested and lots of reactions says that it is a mess or confusing.

To reply in a Tweet, one must click the reply icon, the first icon from the left at the bottom of the Tweet. A Tweet box will welcome you with the @username of the one your are replying. After typing your reply you just need to click Tweet, according to Twitter. Sure it sounds good but what does the Twitter users who have tested it have to say?

An article from TechCrunch listed some things that was found weird with the choice. The tiny and light text that takes extra attention, the need to tap on the 'others' link to see everyone included in the conversation, the difficulty to remove or drop someone from the ongoing conversation, and many more coming from the list.

One more user who have tested the @reply of Twitter in engadget have also something to say. One thing that made the choice not a 'good one' is the emphasis put on the real names rather than the usernames. Almost all users are already familiar with the usernames of the people who they follow and follows them so it is true that it is quite hard to recognize the person. The biggest issue though, still from engadget's article, hidden names of additional people that one is replying to which is behind the 'and others' link which would in turn show the checkbox menu.

Twitter's @reply must have come from a good concept but from the list of things that is coming from users who have tested the Twitter's new design, something must be done. It is not too late to make it bounce back and be accepted by everyone.
