Walt Disney Studios and Pixar announced that the release dates for the upcoming The "Incredibles 2" and "Toy Story 4" are having a bit of a shuffle. In fact, they have trade off the respective dates. "The Incredibles 2" will now arrive in theaters on June 15, 2018, with "Toy Story 4" debuting on June 21, 2019.

The sequel to "The Incredibles" has been moved up to June 15, 2018, despite originally being scheduled for release the following summer. This means the new film will release nearly 14 years after the original, as the first Incredibles was released in November 2004. Original director/writer Brad Bird will be returning to oversee the project, according to ComingSoon.net.

Meanwhile, Walt Disney Studios and Pixar decided also to delay "Toy Story 4" until June 21, 2019, the original projected release date for "The Incredibles 2." Not a whole lot is known about the fourth "Toy Story" film except that it's a love story about Woody and Bo Peep, a tale inspired by the marriage of Pixar's John Lasseter.

This is not the first time Toy Story 4 has been delayed. The project was initially announced for a June 17th 2017 release, but last year around this same time, swapped dates with "Cars 3." Seems like October is the time when Disney and Pixar execs evaluate their upcoming June releases and make the big decisions.

John Lasseter, director of the original "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2," will direct "Toy Story 4," which opens a new chapter in the lives of Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the Toy Story gang. The story was dreamt up by Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter and Lee Unkrich, the storytellers who have been the driving force behind all three "Toy Story" films.

The film will supposedly focused on a love story, that finds Woody searching for his lost love Bo-Peep, who vanished in between the second and third films. The film is written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, according to Slash Film.
