The Arizona Cardinals will start quarterback Ryan Lindley on Sunday, multiple sources reported. Early reports hinted that Cardinals coach, Bruce Arians, planned on starting rookie quarterback Logan Thomas in the season finale game against the San Francisco 49ers.

"I guess we'll see on Sunday," offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin said in regards to a potential quarterback switch reported by USA Today Sports.

According to the sources, Thomas has a "shaky start" during Wednesday's practice, but was able to settle down in the latter half. However, Thomas' performance was enough to get Arians to change his mind.

"He's worked, fundamentally, extremely hard and gotten much better," Arians said according to CBSSports.com. "But putting those fundamentals to use in the offense, that's two totally different things."

"It wasn't the greatest, but as it went on, it got better and better," Thomas added. "It just comes with reps and comes with time."

Thomas, who was a fourth-round in this year's draft, completed just one of nine pass- attempts this season. The one completion was a 81-yard touchdown.

Lindley started last Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks for Drew Stanton, who sprained his knee during the game against the St. Louis Rams. Stanton had filled in for starting quarterback Carson Palmer, who suffered a season ending knee injury.

"We've got our fingers crossed," Arians said about Stanton possibly starting in the first round of the playoffs, according to AZCardinals.com. "There are no sureties about either one. If he's ready for this one, it would be in a backup status, and we've got our fingers crossed he'll be ready to practice next week."

In last week's 35-6 lost, Lindley was 18 of 44 for 216 yards with one interception and no touchdowns.

The Cardinals have already clinched a playoff spot. If they beat the 49ers and the Rams beat the Seahawks, they would win the NFC West.
