Yes, it seems that Samsung has not given up on its Galaxy Note just yet. While the South Korean brand has a reputation for smartphones going ablaze, it is attempting to redeem itself after the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 debacle by releasing a much improved version, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

There are reports spreading around that Samsung offered Samsung Galaxy Note 7 owners in South Korea a proposal they can't refuse. Note 7 owners in the country will be able to trade their phones for a Galaxy S7, and those who make the trade will automatically be upgraded to either a Galaxy S8 or a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 for half the price. Since the permanent discontinuation of the production of Note 7, the company was compelled to issue recalls for the smartphones, which had, in a number of occasion, caught fire and burnt their owners.

The offer sounds appealing, but risky nonetheless. "Anyone that agrees will basically be paying for a device they know nothing about - and even though you get it at half the price, the S8 or even the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 might not be to your liking," writes Mashable.

In other news, according to an article in Tech Radar, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 S Pen 'might speak to you.' The S pen is one of the latest features that is unique to the Samsung phablet lineup. Users are given the chance to interact with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 by sketching or writing by hand. In an article by Patently Mobile, the speaker is on top of the pen which allows sound to play through it. The S Pen of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be slotted in the handset which could double as pen and a speaker for the phone.

Considering the losses when Samsung's devices were recalled, the move should affect the company's finances and reputation. In fact, there's a possibility that Samsung doesn't name it Samsung Galaxy Note 8 anymore. In the meantime, Samsung has kept the program hush-hush, for now.
