At the season premiere of "The Walking Dead", there was no instant revelation as to was killed by Negan. Fifteem minutes into the first episode and the death had still not been revealed.

ComicBook.com went through the possibilities of who could die on Sunday night and how the world would react. Everyone had their own theories and many thought they knew who it would be that was going to end up getting killed.

Deadline reported that in the comic book version, Negan really make himself known by taking out Glenn right away and in a seriously gruesome fashion. He absolutely beats Glenn into obscurity with his bat named, 'Lucille'. Glenn's death is one of the most shocking moments of the whole franchise, but the TV series has not always exactly followed the graphic novel.

SPOILERS ALERT: Please let it be known that there are possible spoilers ahead for the new season and comic book of "The Walking Dead," If you don't want to know them, stop reading now.

In the recapped by Celebrity Dirty Laundry, the episode begins where the season 6 cliffhanger left off and it is with Negan in front of the line-up of survivors. Finally, he gets to the point of the final choice and it ends up being pointed directly in the face of Abraham. Negan raises 'Lucille' above his head and slams it down hard into the top of Abraham's head which knocks his face-forward to the ground.

While the survivors stare on with tears in their eyes, Daryl Dixon jumps up and attacks the villain by punching him in the face. Negan's men tackle him to the ground and Daryl ironically has a crossbow pointed at his head, but it's not his turn to die.

After the attack by Daryl, Negan is talking to them and many may not have realized it but Glenn was in the spotlights of the cars and right behind Negan. Then, it really happened. 'Lucille' was quickly swung in a backwards motion and slammed the face of Glenn in a simply horrifying shot. The scene was evidently one of the most absolutely horrific and gruesome killings that has ever been seen on television.

Glenn is now officially gone. He was officially killed. Many may have thought he died last season when he was trapped under a car and the Walkers surrounded him, but he survived. He survived just long enough to feel the wrath of 'Lucille.' In this instance, the TV show creators did stay true to the comic book and they did it in absolutely perfect fashion. They allow the Negan to kill the man who was destined to die based on the graphic novel.
