DDoS Attack or Distributed Denial-Of-Service attack affected many sites by flooding in or overloading it with so much traffic. The said attack prevented some users from accessing sites. Sites affected includes Twitter, NetFlix, Spotify, Paypal and other sites even CNN which caused a lot of problems to different users.

The said Cyber Attack occurred last Friday October 21, 7 a.m. according to CNN Money as stated by Dyn. Dyn, a company who provides Domain Name System which manages the internet performance and delivers the content requested, was the target. According to BBC News the reason and the attack against Dyn was still unclear and that FBI and the US Homeland Security are both investigating on it.

Paypal, one of the sites affected, said that the web attacks "prevented some of our customers from being able to pay with PayPal n certain regions. Paypal was not attacked directly, nor were any of our core services to business impacted in the disruption" as taken from BBC. According now to CNN Money Amazon Web Service also claimed to have been affected by the attack as it experienced difficulty around the same time the Dyn was attacked.

The DDoS cyber attack can be initiated by sending out bot that will access websites creating traffic and via malware or virus it can be distributed according to Live Science. The said Cyber Attack affected lots of sites (Twitter, Netflix, Spotify, Paypal, CNN, Amazon etc), different from DDoS usual attacks that only targets one site, as it attacked the Dyn that provides the Domain Name System.

The attack lasted for two hours according to BBC and was resolved later on that morning. Throughout that two hours lots of sites were reported to be hard to reach. A second attack was said to have occurred later on that Friday.
