'Jack Reacher; Star Tom Cruise Says He'd Love To Do 'Top Gun 2'

"Jack Reacher" actor Tom Cruise says he'd love to do another "Top Gun" movie, during an interview with BBC. The 54-year-old actor appeared on Graham Norton show where the possibility of having another fighter pilot film.

"We are discussing it," said the Jack Reacher actor. "We are trying, and if we can figure it out, I'd love to do it," Tom Cruise added, beaming. The "Top Gun" was shown in 1986 or 30 years ago, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson and touched on the romance of a navy pilot Lieutenant Pete "Maverick" Mitchell.

Its director, Tony Scott, passed away three years ago. The military drama film became a phenomenal success, coming out as the highest-grossing film of the year with a total revenues worldwide amounting to $353,816,701. In 2015, the film "Top Gun" was among the ones chosen for the National Film Registry for its cultural, historical or aesthetic significance, the Hollywood Reporter reported.

In Graham Norton Show, Tom Cruise also talked about his latest movie, "Never Go Back," a sequel to "Jack Reacher," and particularly appreciated the latest installment due to the relationship between the characters.

"There are so many stories. I've read all of the books and this seemed like a nice one to go to because of the relationship between the characters," Cruise was quoted by the Standard United Kingdom based on the show.

The "Jack Reacher" also stars Cobie Smulders from "How I Met Your Mother" sitcom series. Smulders also shared her experience in filming the show, revealing to the Norton Show she suffered a broken leg before her training for the show began the actress described that state as the weakest possible shape of her adult life.

"Tom is the fastest human being in films and so fast, and I'm very competitive, so I wanted to at least keep pace," said Cobie Smulders.
