A lot of people are fascinated with the discoveries of Artificial Intelligence (AI) which, according to inventors, can contribute a lot of benefits to humans. However, Professor Stephen Hawking warns every one of the dangers AIs may cause to humanity.

According to Daily Mail UK, Hawking pointed out oppression and powerful weaponry as the greatest threats of AIs to Humanity. However, he also did not take out the possibility that well-researched and thought of AIs will probably lead things for the better.

Hawking gave this warning during his talk in Cambridge on Wednesday. He was a delegate for The Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence, where the main concern is the exploration of artificial intelligence.

"I believe there is no deep difference between what can be achieved by a biological brain and what can be achieved by a computer," he said. It was noted during the event that the latest developments for artificial intelligence have been very huge. Hawking added that "alongside the benefits, AI will also bring dangers, like powerful autonomous weapons, or new ways for the few to oppress the many."

Telegraph UK also noted one good point that Hawking fear once artificial intelligence go the wrong way. He said that "It will bring great disruption to our economy, and in the future AI could develop a will of its own that is in conflict with ours."

Although the event was held in Cambridge, it was a collaboration of Imperial College London, Berkeley in California, University of Cambridge and Oxford. Also, Professor Hawking is one of the most prominent people who are skeptical about artificial intelligence. In fact, just last year, he joined the other 1,000 experts and researchers who signed a petition which warns people about all the dangers of artificial intelligence machines, most especially those that serve as weapons.
