More Products Linked To Aspen Hills Cookie Dough Recalled Due To Listeria Contamination, Ice Creams and Energy Bars Included
More and more companies are pulling out products to avoid a possible listeria outbreak. All have been connected to Aspen Hills as their primary supplier.
Fortune reported that there are at least 27 companies that and at least five companies have issued product recalls. These companies are: Blue Bell, Publix, Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Company, Nutrisystem, and Wells Enterprise.
Blue Bell announced last October 10, 2016 that they are recalling two ice cream flavors namely: Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Blue Bell Cookie Two Step. The recall was made after Aspen Hills revealed in a letter that the company is making a voluntary recall of "No Egg Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough 03-3014 Lots #9213, #9213, #9252." CNN reported that both companies have reported no illnesses as of date.

Next to make a recall of their products is Publix and Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Co. According to Fox43, Publx recalled their Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream with the following details: Sell Date: May 27, 2017 and UPC code 000-41415-03843.
Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Co. Inc. announced massive recall of its products namely: Heaps of Love, Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter Cookie Dough, Sticks & Stones, Baked Bear Cookie Dough and Yippee Skippee.
Nutrisystem issued a recall on Nutricrush Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar. It is identifiable by the following details: UPC 6 32674 85579 4, Lot Code NF082216A, Enjoy by Aug 22 2017. In its announcement, it stated that the "bar contains a chocolate chip cookie dough ingredient supplied by a third party supplier."
Wells Enterprise is also recalling Blue Bunny Hoppin' Holidoodle Ice Cream with the following details: UPC 070640014644 LOT 60001 MM 19115 6228 BEST IF USED BY 02/13/18 UPC 070640014651 (High Altitude) LOT 60001 MM 19115 6229 BEST IF USED BY 02/14/18. Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and fatal illnesses, even death.
