Maroon 5 New Music Video – ‘Don’t Wanna Know’ Clearly Refers to Pokemon GO [VIDEO]

Maroon 5 recently released a new music video titled, "Don't Wanna Know". The song has gain attention due to its Pokemon GO parody setting.

Maroon 5 Uses as Inspiration Pokemon GO

Viewers who watch the latest Maroon 5 music video, "Don't Wanna Know" will clearly see that it's a Pokemon Go parody. The costumes may have been intentionally altered presumably to avoid any legal entanglements from Nintendo or Niantic.

The music video started showing a Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine living, driving and drinking as a Bug type Pokemon based on his costume. It's quite funny with several celebrities making cameo rules including Ed Helms, Sarah Silverman and Vince Vaughn.

The music video seems to make fun of Pokemon GO players chasing Pokemon wherever and whenever they can find them. Levine is about to connect to the Pokemon of his dreams when the pesky player rudely interrupted their meeting.

Levine was so depressed that he was shown drinking whisky beside a swimming pool. Suddenly, a Pokemon GO player jump over the fence. This made Bug type Pokemon who proceeded to disintegrate the human player with a Solar Beam.

Pokemon GO Current Standing

It has been three months since Pokemon GO was first released. It was reported that more that the game has been downloaded more than half a billion times in iOS and Android mobile devices, according to gamespot. It is now available in every part of the globe with the exception of a few countries such as China, North Korea and most parts of South Korea.

There are also reports that Pokemon GO is on the decline. However, recent survey shows that it's still the most popular game despite losing millions of players. Niantic and its partners are still earning around $2 million dollars a day from the Pokemon GO. The developer has also announced that new features will be added to the game in the future.
