Avengers fans who love "Iron Man" are still waiting for its fourth installment. However, based on the recent reports, chances are slim for "Iron Man 4" to hit the big screens. According to reports, Marvel Phase 3 lineup does not include Robert Downey Jr's "Iron Man 4."

Fans of the genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist superhero a.k.a Tony Stark or "Iron Man" are eager for another film. A year ago, Marvel announced three untitled films for their Phase 3 lineup, which will be released on 2020.

Fans are hopeful that "Iron Man 4" is one the untitled films but per Aussie Network News, Robert Downey Jr.'s "Iron Man 4" is not on the list. Is it time to move on from "Iron Man 4?"

Initial reports claim that the delay of "Iron Man 4" development was due to Robert Downey Jr.'s demands. The actor reportedly asked for a $50 million increase to reprise his role in "Iron Man 4." Later on, the "Sherlock" star changed his mind and opted for a percentage of the film's sale because he was sure that it will be a blockbuster hit.

Well, it seems that Marvel and Robert Downey Jr. have never reached an agreement because "Iron Man 4's" fate remains unknown after it failed to make it in Marvel's Phase 3 lineup. Some sources also claim that Robert Downey Jr. is already moving on from the franchise.

According to reports, Robert Downey Jr.'s superhero character might get killed or be replaced. However, for "Iron Man" fans, the superhero's plot doesn't deserve to end in such a cruel way.

"Iron Man" is one of the favorites in the Avengers and killing him doesn't give the character justice. In addition, replacing Robert Downey Jr. doesn't sound a better option either.

Robert Downey Jr. has personalized the "Iron Man" franchise and it's difficult to think of another character taking the role. In fact, fans can't think of a Downey-less "Iron Man 4" in the very first place.

Joe Russo told Forbes that Robert Downey Jr. is the biggest star and his one close up performance is already worth another actor's entire performance. Downey Jr. is irreplaceable in "Iron Man 4." Thus, it's better to give the franchise a break and make a reboot with a younger actor when everyone is over Downey Jr.'s "Iron Man."

Do you agree that it is better to skip "Iron Man 4" and reboot it later than replacing Robert Downey Jr. or killing the character? Are you still hopeful for "Iron Man 4?" Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
