Overwatch Gets 20 Million Players, Gets Halloween Terror Makeover

After a hefty 3 Gigabyte patch just recently, Blizzard's Overwatch has released a plethora of changes for the upcoming spooky season. Halloween Terror is Overwatch's homage to the iconic celebration. One need only look at the freakishly festive Hollywood map redecoration to see the effort Blizzard put into the newest patch. Have a sneak peek of that in the released trailer, along with other things to look forward to. All this with a very well done Junkenstein voice over on top. Sweet.

And, of course, what's Halloween without Trick-or-Treat? Even our favorite heroes will have their own costumes! My personal favorites would be Dr. Junkenstein Junkrat, Junkenstein's Monster Roadhog, Witch Mercy and Pumpkin Reaper. Polygon has an awesome gallery available for those who wish to see the rest of the skins.

What are the treats, you ask? Well, beyond getting those aforementioned skins, there are also some awesome character-specific voice lines and even emotes to collect. What's more is that you collect them from decorated pumpkin containers. Thorough is thorough after all. Best hurry, though, because these goodies are only available until November 1. After that, well, who knows if they'll ever be available again!

There's also a new Brawl mode to consider. It's unique in that Junkenstein's Revenge is the first co-op PvE introduced to Overwatch. Players get to choose from only available characters: Ana, McCree, Soldier 76 and Hanzo. The purpose of the mini-game? Survive 10 rounds of zombie robot invasion!

Blizzard is probably just right to keep the interest up for their latest hit game. Overwatch itself has hit the 20 million player mark, reaching half that only just this June. With such a big and apparently loyal following, stunts such as these are sure to garner even more attention from all the players out there.
