Following last week's reveal of "The Exorcist" Chapter 2, wherein a series of unexplainable and horrific murders occurred, "The Exorcist" Chapter Three titled "Let 'Em In" serves to unleash the drama that has been building slowly over the first two episodes. The series focuses mainly on a family whose problems started when one of the daughters, Katherine (Brianne Howey) was involved in a car accident five months earlier, with her friend Julia (Charlotte Thomas), that involved a mysterious figure on the road.

"The Exorcist" Chapter Three "Let 'Em In" provides Father Marcus (Ben Daniels) and Tomas (Alfonso Herrera) with hope to defeat the evil that has awakened in their community. The idea that there are many demons loose in Chicago is expanded upon and given deeper depth, even as anouther of the family's daughter Casey falls deeper and deeper under a demon's control.

Ironically enough, this demon claims to be the one Father Marcus supposedly removed from the young boy in the pilot episode, shows that it was never really defeated. As the show continues, the characters grow ever complex and deeper of aspect with some indicating that the lesbian angle in the Katherine-Julia story is important as it points to the moment Katherine's life was changed irrevocably, in addition to praise given to its execution.

"The Exorcist" HiddenRemote review notes that the show is becoming less about a random demonic possession and more about connecting and tracing the dots that brought every character to this point, which makes it a lot more interesting. It's something that can appeal to you even if you are not a horror fan at all. It opens the show up to a broader audience.

Unfortunately, therein lies the problem. Despite having interesting characters and a complex plot, the show fell 40 percent in the second week, according to reports by TV By The Numbers. With a worry on making a loss should the series fall even lower, it remains to be seen whether the show will be cancelled or not. Though according to FOX networks standings list, it looks likely to be cancelled. As of now, all that can be done is to wait for the upcoming episode and see how the show performs.
