Following the success of the movie blockbuster "Avatar", many fans have been surprised by the delay in the forthcoming sequel. Recently, however, director James Cameron has given out some hints and teasers on what to expect in the sequel, despite no official announcements.

According to reports from Ecumenical News, in an interview with Variety, the director of Titanic, Stephen Spielberg, reveals that "Avatar 2" follows Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) with their new family as they struggle against the humans that wish ill for them. As Cameron puts it, it's about a family saga that grows from unlikely circumstances; Jake's humanity and Neytiri's alien nature, to overcoming the odds against them and protects what they've built.

Cameron also reveals that we may see the resurrection of two main characters in the first film, Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) and Col. Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang). As you may recall, the former chose to side with the Pandorans whereas the latter was a major antagonist with both dying at the end of the first film. In the upcoming sequel, however, we may see a surprising reversal of roles.
In addition to this, we can expect to see beautiful new environments as well as characters in the upcoming sequel.

A source reports to ChattSportsNet that the franchise's lead stars, Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, are allegedly "causing so much delay in the production of the Avatar 2 movie," with rumors that the two have been "very flirty with each other on set."

There are claims that Worthington and Saldana are "possibly dating." However, it is possible that the flirting is probably due to the fact that the rumored couple "are going to film several love scenes in the movie."
As of now, the development team is working on "Star Wars: Episode VIII." So, we will probably not get to see "Avatar 2" until 2023.

The firs "Avatar" film was released in 2009, to critical acclaim and went on to become the highest grossing film of all time, a status which it still holds. It followed the story of the human Jake Sully as he was sent to an alien moon, Pandora, to assist in the mining of its rich Unobtanium deposits which were in high demand back on Homeworld. As the planet's air was unbreathable to humans he had his consciousness placed in a Na'vi body, one of the dominant sentient species on the planet.

His original mission was to observe and infiltrate with the natives but along the way he met and fell in love with a Na'vi girl, Naytiri, forcing him to choose between what was right and his loyalty to the humans. It ended on a happy note, with Jake having his mind permanently transferred to his Na'vi self. Fans have to watch out for more news about "Avatar 2" and keep hoping that it will be sooner that expected.
