It was a huge break for the makers and stars of "Descendants of the Sun" on its first installment as it immediately hooked viewers in Korea, Asia and other parts of the world. The buzz started on its release last February this year and the noise never settled down as followers of the show demand a second season.

Gamenguide says that there's a possibility that original cast Song Hye Kyo ( who portrayed Dr. Kang Mo Yeon) and Song Joong Ki (who played as Captain Yoo Si Jin) might not appear on "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2. However, certain reports coming from the actors' close connections say that they are still both willing to participate on the second installment even when the two stars are now in separate projects and appearances.

Adding to the spice is the chance of having a third party go into the already-loved pair of Dr. Kang Mo Yeon and Captain Yoo Si Jin. The report says that younger stars might shake the world of both characters. Names of actors Suzy Bae, Park Shin Hye, Kim Woo Bin and Lee Min Ho were dragged into spoilers.

Yibada confirms though that KBS is still discussing how "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2's storyline will go. They are in heavy debate whether they should continue the original love story or move on to another set of stars to portray a new engaging romantic story. The report has not disclosed information about who will write the second installment.

Currently, Song Joong Ki is busy filming a movie titled "Battleship Island while Song Hye Kyo is also focusing on a new role in another TV show. Although it looks like these two are not doing any "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2 project, producers of the show assured that the second installment will push through in 2017.
