‘American Horror Story’ Chapter 4 News & Update: Answers Revealed, ‘Roanoke’ Explained; Lady Gaga As Woods Witch
Answers were revealed when "American Horror Story" Chapter 4 aired last October 5. The episode provided flashbacks that helped viewers understand Roanake.
"American Horror Story" Chapter 4 - Mr. Piggy and "Croatoan"
"The American Horror Story" Chapter 4 started with Matt Miller (Cuba Gooding) and Shelby Miller (Sarah Paulson) came face-to-face with this season's infamous character, Mr. Piggy. The couple were lucky enough to be rescued by Dr. Elias Cunningham. He eliminated the threat by saying the magic word - "Croatoan!"
According to Entertainment Weekly, Dr. Elias explained that the word "croatoan" was a message originally left at the Roanake. Before, the word was being used to find "relocated grounds" but today, the word now is correlated with "dark power and black magic."
Dr. Elias continues on by giving the Millers a history lesson about house. He said that everyone who lived in the house either turned up to be dead or missing. Dr. Elias told Matt and Shelby about the people who lived there - the Taiwanese family who were killed, the de-limbed sisters, and the original owner of the house, Edward Phillipe Mott who was gone missing.
"American Horror Story" - Chapter 4 Into the Woods - Wood Nymph Witch Spirit
The next part of "American Horor Story" Chapter 4 continues with Lady Gaga as the Wood Nymph Witch. MTV news reported that the Woods Witch is an English descendant who travelled on a boat to sail to the New World. Things didn't go the way it's supposed to and upon reaching the American soil, she was accused of being a witch and was sentenced to death by burning at the stake.
The seductive Wood Witch invited Matt to join her. Her intentions were still unclear but it's more likely that she wanted him to join her forever in oblivion. Thanks to Shelby's resounding scream, Matt was able to keep it together.
