Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has received the remastered treatment, and CoD fans are eagerly waiting for its release. The first installment to the Modern Warfare series is what turned CoD into a household name, according to Twinfinite. To show how much has changed, Twinfinite also captured a side by side comparison of the original version and the remastered one.

The remastered version includes the original game's full story campaign, as well as 10 of the original 16 multiplayer maps. The remaining 6 will be released on December 31 this year.

However, IGN reports that in order to play the game, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is required. They say that according to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's FAQ page different consoles will have different methods of getting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

For PS4 players, Modern Warfare Remastered is a full digital download included with the Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition and Legacy Pro Edition. The download is redeemed via a voucher code on an insert in the box. The Infinite Warfare disc must be inserted to play Modern Warfare Remastered.

For Xbox One players, Modern Warfare Remastered is included on the Infinite Warfare Xbox One disc for the Legacy Edition and Legacy Pro Edition. No download voucher is required, however there is some additional download needed. Again, the Infinite Warfare disc must be inserted to play Modern Warfare Remastered.

For Steam, a Steam Key in the Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare Will give access to both Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered. It looks like there's really no way to get the game without having Infinite Warfare first.

The remastered version has received a positive review from Kotaku. According to them, the remastered version is a faithful recreation of the original game, with snappy controls, and excellent gameplay. If anything, this should make fans more excited for its release in November 4.
