"Dexter" - one of the most unforgettable series in television is celebrating its 10th year anniversary. Michael C. Hall, the actor responsible in bringing Dexter Morgan to life, takes us all back to a trip down memory lane.

In an interview with E!News, Michael Hall described the first season of the show as something "deliciously awkward and tense and brutal." He added that from the very start, the people behind "Dexter" are trying to do something that hasn't been done - getting compassion for a serial killer.

Admittedly, Hall said that it is tricky but the fact that Dexter lives on a code made it easier to have the fans of the show root for him. He appreciated the fact that fans wanted his character, Dexter Morgan, to win. He, after all, only kills people who deserved to die.

As the show progresses, the people behind "Dexter" were able to showcase the different sides of Dexter Morgan. He had a son with long-time girlfriend Rita Bennett (Julie Benz). We all saw how he protected his loved ones - his family, his sister Debra, and his friends.

"Dexter" was an interesting show because it made us question our own judgement of what is right and wrong. Hall said his role as Dexter Morgan allowed him to feel like he's getting away with something. He also added that his character evolved as the show went further.

Dexter Morgan's character and his story became deep and complicated season after season. Hall said that it is hard to imagine the lengths his character went through especially when one will compare it to who his character was at the beginning of the show.

When asked how to described his feeling about playing the role of Dexter Morgan, the actor said, "It was a really liberating experience."
