Kids Beware: Mom Can Lock Your Phone If You Don't Answer Her Calls

A frustrated mother has invented a new smartphone app that makes it difficult for children to ignore their parents' calls.

Now there is an app for everything, even one that locks kids' smartphones if they ever try to ignore their parents' calls. The app, aptly named as "Ignore No More," is a new app for Android smartphones that gives parents the authority to lock phones remotely.

This app can help tensed moms get the attention of their children immediately as the phone remains unlocked unless a unique code is entered, which apparently is shared with the parents.

The idea behind the unique app comes from a frustrated Texas-based mother, Sharon Standifird, who was annoyed to see her calls and messages go without a response. She then turned to technology to find a feasible solution. With the common availability of smartphones, Standifird thought of developing an app that can lock the phones remotely.

Developing an app wasn't an easy task but not impossible for Standifird who served in the Gulf war and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. Ignore No More app was a result of months of hard work with developers and it can do everything a parent wishes for.

"As a parent, all I have to do is touch the app, tap his name," ABC News 13 quoted Standifird as saying. "To lock Bradley's device, enter at least a 4-digit unlock code.  And now I'm going to press 'lock Bradley's phone.' And if you watch Bradley's phone, it's going to go blank. Bradley needs to call me because I'm the person that has the unlock password."

Even though, the app locks out the phone completely to show a blank screen, it doesn't put the child's safety at risk. Children are free to make calls to 911 and emergency numbers as it only locks texting, gaming, browsing and calling friends.

The app can also be used to disable the phones during  bedtime and dinner.

Ignore No More app is a paid app available for download from Google Play Store for $1.99.
