'Criminal Minds' Season 12 Air Date, Spoilers, News 7 Update: New Characters Introduced This Season; What We Know So Far!

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 kicks off with a new agent being introduced to the show. It seems that the team is going to be very busy since there are fourteen convicts who have escaped from prison and this includes a serial killer.

According to International Business Times, Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez) joins the show just in time to help catch the convicts who have gone loose in "Criminal Minds" Season 12. Aside from Luke, Colonel Ethan Willis (Rob Lowe) also joins the show.

In a report from TV Guide, Luke Alvez will join the team in hunting the Crimson King in "Criminal Minds" Season 12. Luke Alvez is here for a revenge on the Crimson king. Aside from the crimson King to be one of those who escaped, he also was the one who paralyzed Luke's partner.

Hotch (Thomas Gibson) will have his exit in "Criminal Minds" Season 12. He is said to be on MIA for three episodes before his character will eventually exit the series. The absence of Hotch will be explained later on making room for Prentiss (Paget Brewster) to come in and help in the team.

In "Criminal Minds" season 12, Pretiss and Alvez will work together and will develop a friendship along the way. They both will be busy especially now that they have asituation at hand with the riminals out of prison.

Meanwhile, there are other stories to tell in "Criminal Minds" Season 12 aside from catching the criminals. Out of the 13 criminals who escaped, five of their stories will be revealed in the upcoming season. Two of these stories will be about the Crimson King and Mr. Scratch (Bodhi Elfman) who is the mastermind of this all.

It is also mentioned that Jane Lynch is returning to "Criminal Minds" Season 12. She will portray Diana who happens to be the schizophrenic mother of Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler). There are more crimes to be solved as the series moves along.

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 airs every Wednesday night.
