'The Strain' Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: The Series To End After Season 4: What We Know So Far!

"The Strain" Season 3 is underway and will be on the sixth episode of the season. As early as now, the show has been renewed for a Season 4 and it will be the last season of the series.

In a recent report from Den of Geek, "The Strain" Season 3 Episode 6 will have Fet (Kevin Durand) strike at the strigoi army. Justine (Samantha Mathis) on the other hand, goes in a difficult mission to destroy all the strigoi and let them out of New York City. Gus (Miguel Gomez) and Angel (Joaquin Cosio) face a challenge and will also be fighting for their lives. The characters will face each of their challenges in the upcoming episode.

According to Variety, "The Strain" has been renewed for Season 4 in the middle of its third season. This is a decision made by the producers. The original plan for the series is to end it after Season 3. An additional season means that there are still stories to tell about the strigois.

Series creator Carlton Cuse shares in a report that right after the third season was done, they decided to add another season since the best version of the full story can still be told. He added that "The Strain" Season 4 still has more exciting storylines. This series is based on a trilogy written by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan.

A report in Screen Rant indicates that in 2012 Del Toro announced that he is developing a series based on a trilogy with Hogan. This then led to the series creation. "The Strain" is a horror series about an outbreak happening in New York City. The series came about in 2014 and now is in its third season. It has been renewed for Season 4 which also will serve as the end of the series.

"The Strain" Season 3 airs every Sundays at 10 p.m.
