"Scandal" Season 6 skips fall premiere airing of the ABC network, moving air date early in 2017. Release of the new season has been moved due to lead actress Kerry Washington's pregnancy of her second child. All characters for the season have been casted and have started studying their scripts for season 6.

According to GameNGuide, casts and crew of "Scandal" Season 6 have been trying to beat the midseason target airing on the ABC network. The show's creator, Shonda Rhimes have not confirmed yet whether Olivia Pope will be pregnant in this incoming new season.

But "Scandal" Season 6 trailer did not portray Olivia Pope as pregnant. Washington's pregnancy has been hidden and concealed from viewers. It is also reported the episodes of season 6 will be cut down to 18 instead of 22 due to Washington's pregnancy.

Delay of airing has affected original plan of showing it alongside America's upcoming presidential elections which is very relevant to "Scandal" Season 6's current storyline. According to Variety, "Scandal" even introduced a Donald Trump inspired character early in "Scandal" Season 5, but has been kicked out of the show's presidential runners.

ABC network's famous "Thank God It's Thursday" line-up which originally features shows created by Rhimes will now be missing "Scandal", which opens a window for other shows. According to ChattSportsNet.com, the show that will be temporarily filling in for Scandal is TV series "Notorious."

"Scandal" will soon fill that spot again early in 2017. "Scandal" Season 6 is highly anticipated and expected to have an extremely great story waiting to be revealed this coming 2017. The excitement of who will win as America's next president in the series just coincides with the current upcoming elections. Will Mellie Grant be a better president that Fitzgerald Grant? What more scandals will be revealed?
