The eleven-year-running series "Criminal Minds" finally sets foot on CBS Network today. The network renewed its contract for "Criminal Minds" Season 12 last May 2016.

For viewers who are planning to join today as "Criminal Minds" Season 12 premieres, here is a briefer: the series does not corner criminal situations in crime procedural. Instead, investigators in the show delve into the lives of criminals, studies their personal backgrounds and explores how some of them are interconnected in their missions.

EW reports that CBS veteran and former "CSI: Miami" star Adam Rodriguez will come in as Luke Alvez, a newcomer in the show's FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit. The report also divulged that Alvez was a former military officer who specializes in fugitive recovery. Viewers will learn more about his character and his assignments in "Criminal Minds" Season 12.

Buddy TV elaborates Alvez' character description through their report. The actor himself said that the role he will be portraying will be about an agent who has a strong instinct whenever he needs to hunt down notorious men. Actor Rodriguez also emphasized that the character is very different from his role as Eric Delko from CSI: Miami.

Alvez' also pointed out how different "CSI" is from "Criminal Minds", emphasizing that the latter is a series of psychological investigation work rather than physical interrogation the former excelled on. In "Criminal Minds" Season 12, viewers will witness more about how agents think like criminals to solve big cases.

TV Guide exposed showrunner Erica Messer's insights on what to expect in "Criminal Minds" Season 12. She said that Alvez will have a lot of work to do with the Crimson King case, most especially that the group had his partner paralyzed. Spoilers say that this will be the main focus for the upcoming season which airs today on CBS Network at 9/8c.
