Nintendo NX: Latest Updates, Release Date and Price Tag Leaked?

A heads up from Tesco's website, according to nintendolife, may have inadvertently leaked the price of the upcoming Nintendo NX. The so-called Nintendo NX Wii U was slated for December 31, 2016, at a £349.99, or around $450, price tag. The picture has since then been taken down by Tesco, leading to a Page Not Found error when attempting to access it.

Perhaps the picture itself was an honest mistake, but its existence surely set off the rumors straight away. Besides which, the date is obviously a placeholder because previous news already reports the NX to be scheduled for March 2017.

Enstarz believes this is par for the course as far as Nintendo marketing goes: cryptic, vague, and a trickle of other things like patents are slowly being picked up and noticed. The hype is certainly alive, though, as just this one picture has spawned multiple news articles about the up and coming handheld device.

Though moving on, as Cinemablend also states, the price tag is up there, going a little higher than the PS4 Pro's $400 cost. With these prices, the PS4 buyer would have a discounted controller or perhaps a new game with what's left.

Maybe this'll mean Nintendo will have to give good incentive to attract more buyers. After all, the very noticeable lag that Nintendo has in terms of gaming platform is noticeable. This is, of course, comparing the Wii U to the PS4 and the Xbox One. But then again, perhaps Nintendo will use the NX to show something refreshing to players.

Speculation is just that, though, any many are saying that an announcement or update about the NX should be soon, or at least in the works. Otherwise, a definitive release date is sure to come. This is so because Sony has already unveiled the PS4 Pro, while Microsoft already gave out details on Xbox One S.

Still, for those that have not heard much, here's a video on the possible specs of the device:
