Benedict Cumberbatch might be preoccupied filling in the boots of Marvel's Sorcerer Supreme with the upcoming superhero epic "Doctor Strange," but his adventures as the eccentric detective Sherlock Holmes ain't over just yet, as BBC One finally revealed the episode titles for next year's season of "Sherlock."

As revealed a month ago via an ominous trailer and poster, Cumberbatch and Freeman will be reprising their roles as Holmes and John Watson, respectively.

The first episode, titled "The Six Thatchers," is more than likely based on Arthur Conan Doyle's "The Adventure of the Six Napoleons," which focuses on Holmes' quest to uncover the identity of an individual who had been shattering busts of Napoleon Bonaparte. Rachel Talalay from "Doctor Who" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" will be directing the episode.

The next episode will be titled "The Lying Detective," which may be based on "The Adventure of The Dying Detective." In the said tale, Watson has taken an unlikely quest to discover the cause of Holmes' unexpected terminal illness. Nick Hurran returns to helm the episode after his work on Series 3's conclusion.

Nothing much had been revealed about the third episode yet (in part to the staff's careful avoidance from spoiler issues), except for the fact that "Skins'" Benjamin Caron will be on the directorial seat for the said season ender.

Last year's "Sherlock" special "The Abominable Bride" earned critical acclaim amongst critics and fans alike, eventually leading to a "Best Made for TV Movie" award at the Primetime Emmys. It was also revealed that Cumberbatch has recently signed on for a fifth season of the show.

"Sherlock" Series 4 will premiere this January 2017, on BBC One.
