The handheld action RPG "Dragon Ball Fusions" game will be released globally, following the arrival of "Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2" on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Said news is announced by Bandai Namco stirring excitement for gamers and fans of the anime.

The game is developed by Ganbarion, whose repertoire included handheld games based on "One Piece" and other anime properties.

"Dragon Ball Fusions" is a role playing game which pits you into the role of Tekka, who finds himself sucked into an entirely new dimension with his friend Pinich after summoning the dragon Shenron. Upon their travels, the duo realizes that a mysterious force threatens to destroy the balance of space and time, and it is up to them to restore the timeline.

The game will allow players to collect and fuse different characters from the Dragon Ball franchise.

Furthermore, multiple customization options will be available for selection, enabling the player to pattern his avatar's appearance on various species and races in the series. Bandai Namco purports that there are "hundreds of different combinations" made for the game.

This echoes the elements seen in the "Xenoverse" games. The upcoming sequel of the first "Xenoverse" entry will pit the player against a group of villains whose aim is to destroy the very fabric of time.

"Dragon Ball: Fusions" is slated for a North America release this December 2016.
