"The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder, who portrays Damon Salvatore, shared his thoughts on his sex scenes with ex-girlfriend and former co-star Nina Dobrev, who portrayed Elena Gilbert. Fans are still waiting for a Delena reunion for "TVD" season 8.

The Inquisitr reported that fans cannot expect Somerhalder's character to remain happy for a long time because, if that happens, there wouldn't be any conflict. At San Diego Comic-Con 2013, the "The Vampire Diaries" actor revealed what he thinks about Damon and Elena's interaction.

"It is cute to see Damon and Elena and their interaction," he said. "Damon is just smitten, he's in love and it's cute, you know?"

"The Vampire Diaries" actor also admitted that he finds the characters' interactions cute. Moreover, he believes that it is more fun to play the bad guy since the role requires more dynamic.

There have been a lot of speculations on Nina Dobrev's return to "The Vampire Diaries" for season 8. While there is still no official announcement confirming this, according to E! News, CW boss Mark Pedowitz revealed that the "Final Girls" actress is in talks to return to the hit series.

"We collectively came to the same place," Pedowitz told reporters. "We backed Julie [Plec] in her decision... There are discussions going on with Nina, we'd love to have her back... These are discussions that go on, hopefully she'll be back, but should it not work out, Julie has planned out a great series finale for fans."

The CW boss revealed that he liked having Nina Dobrev on the show because she was a great person in general and she was a great spokesperson for the network and "TVD." "She made a career decision that, for her, was probably the right decision but we'd love to have her back," he added. "But again, if it cannot work out, Julie will take care to have a really satisfactory series finale."
