In a surprising move, Sony has once again delayed the release of the still in development action-adventure game, "The Last Guardian," pushing it from an October 25 slot to a December 6 release.

The announcement was made through a recent post on the PlayStation Blog. According to Shuhei Yoshida, President of SCE Worldwide Studios, it was a very difficult decision to move with the delay, as it may hamper the gamers' expectations of the game.

"A delay is a difficult decision, particularly with this game," writes Yoshida, "but we have encountered more bugs than anticipated while in the final stages of development."

Yoshida added, "To ensure that The Last Guardian delivers on the experience that the game's creators have envisioned, we need to take the extra time to work on those issues."

He has also mentioned that both Gen Design and Japan Studio held on to a beautiful vision of the said game, and they intend to push through with that vision nevertheless.

"Fumito Ueda (gen Design) and Japan Studio have a wonderful vision for The Last Guardian's touching, emotional journey of friendship and trust, and we want to deliver the most polished experience possible for our fans who have supported us for so long."

A follow-up to Sony and Gen Design's adventure epic "Shadows of The Colossus," "The Last Guardian's" story is framed as a flashback narrative told by an older man recounting his experience as a young boy meeting a giant, feathered creature, resembling a griffin, named Trico. It also recounts his adventures with the aforementioned creature. It is a third-person perspective game that combines action-adventure and puzzle elements. The player controls the unarmed boy who can run, jump, climb and perform other actions similar to the gameplay in Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.

It was also originally envisioned as a PS3 title in 2009. However, nothing has been heard about the project since then, not until the developers announced "The Last Guardian's" shift to the PS4 platform last E3 2015.
