Surface Pro 3: firmware update released for battery issues

Microsoft, released its tablet Surface Pro 3 back in June 20, 2014 in the tech market, after few months of its release - owners came up with battery woes that were hit up to the internet with huge concerns.

The owners were disappointed with Surface Pro 3 tablet with its improper battery functionality and some users thought of replacing the hardware unit of the tablet in order to settle down with something what they have bought for many dollars. After the woes were raised, Microsoft released an owner relaxing statement just after the complaints, as per Slash Gear.

"We can now confirm that this Surface Pro 3 battery capacity question is not a hardware issue, but one that can be addressed with a software update. Our team has been working on and is now testing, an update that will address this. We'll publish the update as soon as it has passed our quality assurance process. For now, you should not consider replacing your device as an update is pending."

According to The Register UK, Microsoft has finally come up with a fix for battery issues in Surface Pro 3 tablet. Owners of this tablet should be excited as their concern of batteries will be taken care by a simple firmware update on Windows 10.

Microsoft announced on community firms before releasing the update by saying "Thanks for your continued patience here. We have now completed our testing of the update and it has passed our quality assurance process. The update, 'System Firmware Update - 8/29/2016,' is now available to install from Windows Update," - as per Tech Times.

According to Tech Times, the company reveals the firmware update and gives easy procedure to overcome the battery issues by updating the firmware released.

The company advices the users to make sure that their Surface Pro 3 is plugged in with AC power adapter and not the Surface Docking Station, it also stresses to disconnect all the USB devices and external monitors and asks the users to confirm that the battery is 40% charged before starting the update process.

After installation is complete, the Redmond Company says to click on the "Restart now" button, and the tablet will boot. After the step of booting, the company asks users to restart it to finish the update.

Microsoft in a blog post said "Once this fix is applied to a Surface Pro 3, the reported full charge capacity will self-correct over the next several charge and discharge cycles. Surface Pro 3 devices that previously experienced the problem can now operate on battery power, and the issue won't occur on devices that haven't experienced the issue"
