Apart from the highly anticipated Apple Watch 2 release date, tech junkies are excited to know what noteworthy features the new smart watch will have. Rumors have been rife that Apple fans are disappointed to see a lack of any aesthetic change in the wearable device. Given this, Apple might have something up their sleeve to surprise their loyal fans.

According to Trusted Reviews, the Apple Watch 2 could get some major upgrades that include a selfie camera and additional buttons. These additional features will allegedly be the tech giant's response to the design overhaul some have been clamoring for. Consequently, these new features were reportedly leaked to the public when patents for the alleged camera and new buttons surfaced on the net.

Meanwhile, previous Apple Watch 2 release date rumors claimed that the new wearable device will reportedly have a GPS and swimming tracking functionality. As Wareable noted, owners of the new wearable device might not need to carry their iPhones to track their workout, because the new Apple Watch 2 will reportedly have GPS capabilities to log the user's progress remotely. The site also noted that the Workout app might have a feature that will enable users to track swimming activities, further suggesting that an improved waterproof device is underway.

Apple has yet to release a confirmation about the Apple Watch 2 release date, but speculations are rife that it will be released alongside the new iPhone on September.
