'Hot' was not how the iPhone 7 was described a few months ago. On the contrary, many wrote it off saying its lack of innovation in design could turn into a sinkhole of profits for Apple. New reports now suggest the phone could be a show-stopper.

Images, purportedly those of cases for designed for iPhone 7 Plus, appeared online last week causing a flutter in the tech world; the images showed the device's appearance was pleasing despite the design being two-year-old. Significantly, these images showed the rumoured dual-camera system and absence of headphone jack.

Dual-camera and headphone jack removal have been speculated for more than three months how after patents surfaced online depicting changes brought on. However, only in the recent past have rendered images shown what the iPhone 7 could look like. With top and bottom antenna bands rounded, smart connector, dual-camera and new internals, Apple may have a winner on hand.

On the inside, iPhone 7 phones are expected to sport A 10 chipsets. The larger iPhone 7 Plus could be equipped with 3 GB RAM. Powered by iOS 10 and 32 GB base model, this year's flagship device should be able to stand apart from previous generation of iPhones, tech pundits reckon. Apple is expected to unveil new phones this fall.

It must be noted that rendered leaks purport to show iPhone 7 Plus, the larger 5.5-inch device but do not show iPhone 7. The smaller 4.7-inch iPhone will not feature dual-camera setup or Smart Connector. Word has it Apple will provide only 2 GB RAM on smaller devices. However, 32 GB storage could be de-factor. Apple introduced 2 GB RAM on iPhone 6S.

Additional RAM on iPhone 7 Plus is could be required to meet demands of dual-camera. That apart, an iPhone 7 Plus variant could feature as much as 256 GB storage, it has been speculated.
