'Street Fighter 5' has been fraught with a number of flaws that dampen the initial enthusiasm prior to its February release. Now, developer Capcom finally broke its silence over the problems that delayed the release of the game's third expansion character Ibuki which was supposedly scheduled to roll out in May. The company apologized for the lack of communication which delayed the release of DLC Ibuki character and story mode.

"We'll be the first to admit that we can improve our communication with the community, in terms of where our priorities lie around the game and status updates," Capcom's statement reads as quoted in a blog post. "We plan to change that in the coming weeks and months and will work to quickly address topics that come up in the community as best we can."

The game's February launch itself failed to excite fans due to Capcom's failure to address the problems related to lack of content, multiple server issues, and the company's silence over its upcoming DLC releases.

As stated in Capcom's 'Street Fighter 5' roadmap, the Ibuki character and story mode was originally slated for the game's third DLC character release in May. It's June now and Ibuki is yet to be rolled out causing outrage among fans who were extremely displeased over the company's failure to manage their expectations.

Along with the Cinematic Story Mode, fans now expect Ibuki to be released in the last week of the month. But the game publisher now warned of potential delays in the upcoming Street Fighter 5 content releases.

"Moving forward, the development team will continue to put quality of the product above all else," Capcom said as mentioned in a report by IBT. "This may result in additional delays in content deployment. That said, we will be much more transparent when plans change so all of our fans know what to expect."

Following rage quitting triggered by delays in content releases and a host of other problems related to the gameplay, Capcom will be revising development schedules and title releases to give more importance to game completeness over meeting rigid deadlines. Apart from previously announced DLC characters Alex, Guile, and Ibuki, Capcom mulls on adding Balrog, Juri, and Urien to the virtual roster in the coming months.
