‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8, News Update: Are More Characters Making a Comeback?
With the buzz getting louder about Nina Dobrev returning to the upcoming eighth season of 'The Vampire Diaries,' fans and viewers are also talking about the return of other characters and related aspects of the show.
According to reports, speculations are rife that Season 8 could be the last season of CW's vampire series. However, no official confirmation has come yet. When asked about it, the CW President refused to give a definite answer. A few days back, he had commented about the response of the fans on the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, it was announced that Nina Dobrev aka Elena would definitely return for the final episode of the series. Since nobody knows if Season 8 will be the last in the series, it cannot be clearly said if she will make an entry in the upcoming season or the next. If Season 8 is not the last, her comeback might be delayed further.
As for other characters, fans are eager to see them return and given the show's supernatural theme, there is always room for anyone to return. In a poll conducted among the fans, votes went in favor of Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan), Rebekah (Claire Holt), Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) and Lexi Branson (Arielle Kebbel). Nina Dobrev (both Elena and Katherine) topped the list.
Fans also wish for a crossover with "The Originals" and producer Julie Plec has also indicated her desire about the same. She said that it is a luxury for two shows to share the same universe and if one refrains from it, it is like missing a really fun creative opportunity. But she also emphasized on finding small and organic ways to do the same.
Well, as of now, there is no confirmed news about past characters returning to the show or new ones finding a place in the cast. Only the storyline has been hinted at, which will revolve around Damon and Enzo, being overtaken by the mysterious monster in the vault. Stefan, Caroline and Bonnie are searching for the two and their task is to bring them back to their previous self.
