New York Knicks will play under Jeff Hornacek next season. He is seeking to inject up-tempo offense to the team's gameplay with fast-paced point guards. If rumors prove accurate, Knicks may try to carve out a deal with Jeremy Lin. Part of the problem, however, is that New York may think twice of making a run at Lin this offseason after Hornacek's revelation about using some aspects of triangle offense in his gameplan.

As per CBS Sports report, Hornacek's landing in New York may be pivotal to Lin's possible return to New York after reaching career-high season with the team back in 2012. 'Linsanity' enjoyed a breakout into Broadway after posting 23.9 points and 9.2 assists in 11 Knicks' games. With Lin's Big Apple homecoming, there are hopes of recreating the media-hyped 'Linsanity' moment.

Despite earlier reports about Knicks trying to get Lin back to the fold, a report from various online media outfits mentioned that New York is having doubts about recruiting the Harvard standout as the team's starting point guard. Some basketball pundits think that the Palo Alto native is far more effective and efficient in a backup role as he did in the Charlotte Hornets this season.

As stated in a New York Post report, Lin does not fit into Knicks' starting-level point guard who can efficiently implement the team's offense built around Carmelo Anthony. The franchise may also make a run at Ty Lawson but his off-career issues are too big a risk for the team to deal with.

Meanwhile, Jeff Hornacek is not exactly ditching the triangle offense so zealously promoted by the legendary Zen Master and New York front office exec Phil Jackson. As per Sports Rageous, the former Phoenix Suns coach will develop a strategy anchored in a traditional offensive system with elements of the triangle-inspired offense. The 'triangle' had catapulted Phil Jackson into legendary status after winning 6 titles with Chicago Bulls and 5 championships with Los Angeles Lakers.
