Ever since he burst into the scene in the WWE back in 2002, Brock Lesner has rightly been described as 'the Animal' for his brute strength and the ability to simply overwhelm opponents with his raw power. However, those qualities also made him a perfect candidate for MMA (mixed martial arts) and it was not a surprise when he switched to UFC and became one of the most popular figures in that particular brand. During his time at the UFC, he became a popular performed but eventually he did return to the WWE to become one of the top performers yet again. However, according to latest reports, Brock Lesner is set to retuirn to the UFC in spite of the fact that he had stated in the past that he was doen with MMA and would not ever return to it.

However, it is not a permanent return but only a one off as the WWE has given him the permission to be a part of the fight at UFC 200 that is going to take place in July and following the fight he is going to return to the WWE, in order to prepare for SummerSlam that is going to take place in August. Brock Lesner has held the NCAA Division I wrestling championship in the past and had graduated to become a mixed martial arts fighter back in 2007, which at the time seemed to be a permanent move considering his prowess as a fighter. His time at the UFC had not been particularly fruitful and in fact in his very first fight, he lost by way of a submission against Frank Mir.

ESPN states, ""Brock Lesner is returning to the UFC Octagon. UFC officials announced that the professional wrestling superstar and former UFC heavyweight champion will face an undisclosed opponent at UFC 200 on July 9. The news comes despite an announcement by Lesnar in March 2015 that he was "closing the door on MMA. The WWE said Saturday night that Lesnar was "granted a one-off opportunity" to return to the UFC for the July fight and that he'd return for WWE's SummerSlam on Aug. 21."
