Cleveland Cavs backup guard Matthew Dellavedova fouls Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala to the groin on a fast break causing the latter to be gobsmacked in obvious pain on the hardcourt. The Australian-born Delladova apparently tried to grab Iguodala by the arm when he accidentally hit his crotch instead. The Warriors forward just went mad that led to a brief scuffle as teammates from both team held the two players back.

With 34.5 seconds remaining the in the third quarter, Delladova swiped down from behind as Iguodala dribbled his way to the ring. Unfortunately, the untoward contact briefly stopped the play with the Australian native given a common instead of a technical foul.

"I don't really know they reviewed it. I was just stopping the break. We only had three team fouls so we weren't in the bonus," Dellavedova said as quoted by USA Today. "I saw swiping from behind and just tried to grab his arm."

The officials assessed the play of the contact and came to the conclusion that the hit to Iguodala's genitals was only a personal foul instead of a serious flagrant foul. But this isn't the first time that Delladova exhibited his aggressive gameplay into the post-season. In the playoffs last year, Delladova caught hardcourt controversy with his abrasive play against the Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks and the Warriors, Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Meanwhile, Andre Iguodala said there was no intent to foul him in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night.

"He's out there competing. There are a lot of emotions going on out there. I respect a lot of guys' hustle in this league. You've got guys who've got to get a little dirty, got to be a little physical, to make a life and to feed their family, so I can only respect that," Iguodala remarked as quoted by ESPN.

At the end of the game, the Warriors dominated the Cavs in a 104-89 win with the Golden State bench outscoring the Cavs' reserves. Of course, the expectation is that the best-of-seven series would be an epic battle between each team's greats with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, on one side, and LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love, on the other. The Warriors reserves came out really strong with Curry and Thompson having a combined 20 points in the game. Livingston led the Golden State score with 20, followed by Iguodala's 12 and Leandro Barbosa's 11.
