Real Madrid won the UEFA Champions League on Saturday night but their plans for next season is already on overdrive as the club looks to replenish the first team squad with more stardust for the 2016-17 season and one of the players that the club are trying to bring to the Santiago Bernabau is Bayern Munich's Polish striker Robert Lewandowsi. Lewandowski, who is regarded as one of the best strikers in the world at the moment and has performed brilliantly for Bayern Munich and Borrussia Dortmund over the past 4 season, is interested in the move and in fact his agent had even spoken about the fact that there has been contact with Real Madrid. Lewandowski's agent Cezary Kucharski said,"Real Madrid contacted us a few weeks ago, we listened to everything they said. It's a big and exciting clubWe have informed FC Bayern that we've held talks with Madrid."

However, Bayern Munich, who are themselves one of the planet's biggest clubs have made it very clear that they are not going to sell their star striker to Real Madrid this summer. The striker has been in contract extension talks with Bayern Munich for quite some time but the two parties could not come to a mutually agreeable solution last month and now the player is on the look out for opportunities elsewhere so that he can get the sort of deal that he is looking for. Real Madrid have been long time admirers of the club and in fact tried to acquire him three years ago but the player chose to join Bayern Munich.

In spite of everything, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Bayern's chairman has stated that the player is not for sale. "One thing I know for sure, Robert Lewandowski will play in the upcoming season at Bayern Munich. There is no need to think anything else. The decision has been made: we won't let Robert Lewandowski go, regardless of what offer lands on the table. There is no pain-barrier (to what Bayern will pay) when it comes to Robert."
