A women's version of the brutal Money of the Bank ladder match has been frequently discussed by fans for quite some time now and now it seems like the WWE creative management seems lending an ear to the idea of setting an equally exhilarating Money in the Bank (MITB) match for a chance at the women's championship.

During a Q&A on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer responded to a fan-submitted query whether discussions are currently ongoing within the top brass regarding a women's Money in the Bank match at is set to take place in Las Vegas this coming June 19.

"I've heard talk. I don't know that it's going to happen. I hope if they do it, that they don't do a ladder match. I just feel that people would get hurt. Maybe do an elimination match. But then if you don't do the ladder match, then it makes it secondary, so you're kind of screwed," Meltzer said as quoted in a report by WhatCulture.

Meltzer's response would have sounded off as if a female bout would be considered an inferior lot to the male version given the fact that the ladder match may be labeled as a no-go zone for women given the gruesome physical demands of the brutal match. But as we have seen over the years, the women's division has seen quite an interesting evolution throughout the years as the sports world, in general, is steadily breaking down the barriers of gender-based stereotypes.

According to a report by the Inquisitr, times are indeed changing and it seems inevitable for people demand men's angles in wrestling equally happening with women despite the sheer brutality of the ladder match.

Also, some analysts think that a women's angle is possible given a talented roster of female talents WWE has. According to Fansided, may be it is time for the wrestling promotions to shift away from the 'Divas' branding to a more hyped and rebranded women's championship in the event.

For now, fans could only keep their fingers crossed while WWE top decision makers are still mulling on such possibility. Getting women into such a highly bruising match on par with their male counterparts may shake things up for the years to come should it happen this year.
