Despite the crew of 'The Walking Dead' remaining silent, viewers are receiving their share of updates by following the casting information.

According to reports, TWD is on the lookout for a new actor to enact the role of "Rogers". However, information on who this person will be and whether it is yet another character from the comic books is unknown at the moment. Although speculations are being made that this could essentially be "Richard" from the comic books.

Previously, when the casting notice for the role "Augustus" was issued, assumptions were made on whether the name was a code for Ezekiel. Considering the affirmations on that piece of news, the authenticity of the rumour that Rogers could in fact be Richard has gained gravity. Richard the character from the comic books is one of Ezekiel's closest guards's and trusted accomplice.

In the books, the character is seen plotting against Negan and the Saviors and is described as one of the many soldiers who march into the Sanctuary.

The Kingdom, Hilltop Colony and Alexandria have been seen attempting to defeat Negan and the Saviors. However, in the comic books Negan is witnessed executing escape plans and continuing to torment Rick Grimes.

However, in the books Richard is introduced in Issue 115 and lasts till 118. His death happens at the hand of one of the Saviors. He breathes his last in Ezekiel's arms. One of the open questions that revolve around this character is about the duration of his existence in the show.

Moreover Season 7 spoilers indicate a car chase wherein Daryl Dixon will be kidnapped by Negan. An attack at Alexandria is also on the cards. However, information on the mystery man who was murdered by Negan in the season 6 finale still remains unknown.

The return of 'The Walking Dead' will be seen this fall. However, a premiere date for Season 7 has not been announced yet.
