Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has revealed that the production for the Baywatch movie has been wrapped up and it is expected to hit the theatres next summers.

The Baywatch television series featured Pamela Anderson running across the sand extending her support to all those who required and requested for help. The muscle power of David Hasselhoff was also one among the many interesting factors of the series.

The new Baywatch movie is all set to hit the big screen next year, which would give the fans a flashback of nostalgic moments. According to reports, Dwayne has officially announced on Instagram that the production of the movie has been wrapped up and the movie would be released next year.

The cast for Baywatch does boast of a lot of talent with Dwayne Johnson playing the role of a protagonist as Mitch Buchannon - the fatherly figure of the crew. Kelly Rohrbach joins in the crew in the role of C.J. Parker, a noble lifeguard. In addition to these, there are other actors featuring in Baywatch which includes Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra and Alexandra Daddario.

There are a few cameos as well featured by David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, both of which were influential characters in the television series. Reports state that Johnson welcomed both of them on the sets via social media. The characters in the movie will be on the same lines as the television series and will have Zac Efron as the main source of competition for Johnson. Priyanka Chopra would play the role of a villain.

Though on one hand, it cannot be denied that the actions and comedy would follow the lines of the television series; but the addition of youth talent, added to the crew under the veteran guidance of Anderson and Hasselhoff, would provide an exotic touch. The movie filmed in South Florida is all set to hit the theatres on May 19 next year.
